Lil Snappers make snack time easy!

My kids are now in tons of activities and we're always on the go. We rush from school, to speech class, to T-ball to Cubbies... the list goes on and on. And what happens? We don't have time to eat. So constantly I hear, "I'm hungry", "can we go to McDonald's?" I don't want to give them junk because we are now eating healthy and organic in our house. I have organic fruit delivered to our house but it's too big for the kids to handle on their own so I usually have to cut it up and put it into bags. UGH!

Finally, I have an answer! Lil Snappers! Sunkist Growers and Stemlit Growers have partnered together to create premium, kid-sized fruits packaged in 3lb resealable bags. There are 20 varieties available, including organic! :)

My Take: I received a package of the Pink Lady apples, Cara Cara navel oranges, California Mandarin oranges and the Minneola Tangelos to try with my kids. As soon as my kiddos saw the mandarins they dug in. I had to hurry and get pictures before they were all gone if that tells you anything! We took them to t-ball and just had them around the house for when the kids wanted a quick snack.

If you're looking for something a little more creative than just a snack then check out the recipes on the Lil Snappers website. I quickly found a fun recipe to do with my kids. We chose the Orange "Creamsicles" parfaits to go with the nice warm weather we are having. The kids thought it looked like ice cream so they were excited to help! The ingredients are simple:

Graham Crackers
orange extract
navel oranges
vanilla greek yogurt

And here's the final result!

The kids helped with placing the oranges and stirring the yogurt and honey. I even let my daughter help to crush the graham crackers. Yummy! The kids ate these so fast! I also wanted to do something with the apples so I did a quick baked apples recipe that I found online. Simple ingredients again:

Lil Snappers Pink Lady Apples
Ground Cinnamon
Lemon juice
brown sugar

Just chop apples into pieces. Mix together with all ingredients and place in the oven! They turned out super sweet and delicious!

Buy it: Unfortunately Lil Snappers are not available in all stores. Currently you can purchase them in New Orleans; Jacksonville, FL; and North Carolina at the following stores: Rouse's, Publix, Ingles, Harris Teeter, Winn Dixie and C&S Wholesale. However, if you want to have Lil Snappers sold in a grocery store near you, just put in a request at your local grocers' customer service counter! :)

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Lil Snappers. I received product samples to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
