Show me your Nugget Face! #NuggetSmiles

I remember growing up hearing, "Don't play with your food, just eat it"! I'm happy to say that times are changing and sometimes it can be okay to play with your food. Heck, I even believe it helps get children more interested in eating their food if they think it's fun or cool! I have two picky eaters so anything that makes eating more fun or easier for me is a winner.

It's great to see big companies like Tyson getting in on the fun. I don't think there is a kid out there who hasn't tried a Tyson Chicken Nugget. As a matter of fact, the Dino nuggets were a staple in our household. They are the perfect kid friendly meal. So when Tyson gets in on the fun of "playing" with your food you know kids are going to love it.

I'm not sure if you've seen (although, if you have kids I'm sure they didn't miss it) there are specially marked Tyson chicken nuggets bags in your freezer section that are promoting a fun way to eat dinner. All you have to do is purchase 3 specially marked bags, clip the proofs of purchases, enter them in on the Tyson Chicken Nuggets Facebook page (or send them in by mail) and you will receive this fun plate in the mail:

Lucky for me, Tyson sent me a nugget plate in the mail so my family could "show our Nugget faces" (it makes me think of the whole Jerry Maguire "Show me the money"...hehehe). So I headed to Walmart to pick up a bag of the Tyson nuggets. However, being the frugal mom that I am, I first scoured my coupon stash and found this great coupon from a recent Sunday coupon section (HINT is probably still around for all you coupon clippers):

My kids couldn't wait to get in on the fun! I wanted to do an all healthy meal but my kids are such big french fry fans (wonder who's to blame for that one) and curly fries sounded like so much fun. I also added in some fruits like oranges, apples, and pineapples along with some condiments and let them go wild.
As you can see (or maybe not) my son just HAD to have apples. He said they were "arms" and his face wasn't a face without arms.

My daughter wanted to make sure that everyone knew that her face was a girl so she added a bow. It's the slice of pepperoni with the pineapple on it. I thought it was pretty creative.

Of course Mommy had to get in on the fun too. I'll tell you now that I'm not as creative as my kids but I try. And don't forget to look for those specially marked packages of Tyson Chicken Nuggets (and the coupon). Clip your 3 proofs of purchases, mail them in (or enter them on the Tyson Chicken Nuggets Facebook page), get your plate and most importantly:
