Our Very own "Christmas Story" with Daisy BB Gun and Bass Pro Shops! #BB4Me

Yes, I should be writing a post about Thanksgiving but Christmas came a little early in our household this year for a few reasons. #1 I had the pleasure of getting some of my Christmas shopping done thanks to Collective Bias and Daisy Outdoors. #2 My husband is in the military and he's usually never home when we do Santa pictures so this was the perfect time to get them done. Yes, he has to leave again in December but hopefully he'll be back before Christmas. #3 Have you looked around lately? Christmas is everyone and it wasn't even Thanksgiving yet!

So we packed up the kids (I made them dress up) and headed 3 hours away to our local Bass Pro Shops!

We were at Bass Pro Shops for two reasons. First, we were headed to purchase a Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun for my stepson for Christmas. If you're like me the first thing you think of is: "You'll shoot your eye out" from the most awesome Christmas movie ever- A Christmas Story. We walked into the store and it was so festive. I couldn't help but taking a picture of the kids next to this HUGE Christmas tree.

Then I had to get back on schedule...we were also there to visit Santa Claus at Bass Pro Shops Santa's Wonderland. If you don't know about this, it is an event you don't want to miss. It has already started and will continue all the way until December 24! You can learn more about the event on the Bass Pro Shops Facebook page. There were so many activities, we wrote letters to Santa, raced cars, and even took pictures with the jolly old fellow. (I was having so much time I forgot to take pictures of the kids talking to Santa! Oops)! You can check out all the fun we had in my google + album here.

Next we headed to get our gun. We're a military family and my kids are used to being around guns. It's their Daddy's job to carry a gun. I personally didn't grow up around guns so I didn't learn about gun safety until I was an adult. We personally have guns in our house so even though it's normal for our family it doesn't mean that we don't talk to and train our kids on how to behave around guns. Safety is most important in our house. Daisy Outdoor products have a starter BB gun that is perfect for teaching gun safety. There are 10 tips that Daisy Outdoor has on their site all about gun safety which includes: keeping the muzzle pointed in the right direction, keeping the muzzle clear and respecting those around you. You can see my husband teaching the kids this as they practice at the Bass Pro Shops kids' target area. (Don't worry it's only a laser- the Daisy Red Ryder BB gun is recommended for ages 10 and up, my kids aren't there quite yet)

After our fun we grabbed our gun for my stepson. We got super lucky since it was almost Black Friday the guns were on sale for $29.98! Can't beat that! The kids were so tired we grabbed the gun and headed home.

Of course this is the first present under the tree so far. The kids couldn't wait to put it there. I still need to put a bow on it or wrap it up! :)

Win it: Yes, you read that right! We're really in the Christmas mood. Daisy Outdoor is allowing me to do a great giveaway.
