Family Fun Night featuring The Amazing Spider-Man on DVD! #SpiderManWMT

Since my husband is constantly gone on training trips it's up to Mommy to find fun and creative family activities to do until he comes back. We normally like to have a family movie night once a week and this week I had something super special for the kiddos.

My kids are Super Hero fans. It doesn't matter what kind of Super Hero; they love them all. I'm not sure how many of you know but The Amazing Spider-Man is coming out on DVD next Friday, November 9th. You can pre-order the DVD from Walmart now and get a free digital copy that can be viewed on Vudu.

We received the DVD, Blu-Ray, Ultra Violet copy of the movie to view as a pre-celebration to the DVD release. Lately, I've been really into anything that is Augmented Reality and most new DVD releases have AR apps. The Amazing Spider-Man is no exception. Of course I downloaded it so we could try it out. By the way, if you want to try out the app you can head on over to the iTunes App store or Google Play to download it and guess what, it's free!! There are lots of cool features with the Webslinger app. First, you can create a comic book featuring you as Spider-Man. Of course the kids LOVED this one.

There was only one page to view but next week there will be other Spider-Man signs that you can scan to unlock more pages.

You also have the option to bring Spider-Man and the Lizard to life by scanning either the DVD package, a specially marked Marketside Pizza box or both at the same time. It was a great interactive experience for the kids.

So we headed out to Walmart to get some treats for our Family Fun Night viewing party. First we got the specially marked Marketside Pizza with Spider-Man on the lid.

Then we found some really great decorations and party supplies and we were set! You can see our whole shopping experience in my google + album.

Back at home we set up a great feast, including my Spider-Man mask pizza. (I just took off all the pepperonis and arranged them like a mask). The kids thought it would be cool to take all of our Spider-Man toys to decorate.

Then we sat down with our food and watched the movie. It was action packed. I must admit the Lizard was a little scary for them at times but my son would just take the new Spider-Man toy we purchased and act out scenes from the movie as he watched. It was totally worth it and a family fun night that I'm sure we will be repeating when their Dad gets back!

If you're thinking about getting the movie and want to know more info then check out The Amazing Spider-Man on Twitter and Facebook. And don't forget to pre-order your movie now!!
