Tom & Jerry: Tricks and Treats Review

One of my favorite holidays is coming up soon! Yep, that's right: HALLOWEEN! I've already started buying decorations and my husband and I are planning our parties. The kids also share our love for Halloween so we're getting them into the spirit with picking out costume choices and even starting to watch Halloween themed movies.

The first movie for this Halloween season in our house was Tom & Jerry: Tricks and Treats which just came out on DVD yesterday, September 4, 2012.

Tom and Jerry are in for spooks galore in this monster collection. With 20 eerie cartoons plus two bonus cartoons, everyone’s goodie-bag will overflow with fun! Tricks and treats are at every turn, from ancient Egypt to Transylvania, from creepy houses to haunted forests, the hair-raising hilarity is non-stop! Our favorite Cat and Mouse mingle with ghosts, mummies, werewolves and witches in these terrific tales. Of course Tom and Jerry have a bounty of tricks up their own sleeves as well! Fear not, the chase is on! It’s a “scare-iffic” good time for the whole family!
My Take: First and foremost, I love to show my kids cartoons that I used to watch when I was little. Why? Because it makes it so much easier to sit down with them and watch together. Who didn't watch Tom and Jerry growing up? Second, this DVD has 22 cartoon episodes on it! Now I know that the episodes are short but that is perfect for my short attention span preschoolers! It's also great for, "ok you guys need a break, watch a quick cartoon", or "only one more before naptime". And the DVD is still over 2 hours long! I think the best part for me was seeing one of my all time favorite episodes: The Flying Sorceress. I love that crazy witch! My kids seemed to love all the episodes. My son's favorite was with Tom as Super Tom, or whatever he was called. He's all into super heroes! Either way, it's a great DVD to get you into the Halloween mood and might I add it's perfect to have playing during those kiddie Halloween parties!

Buy it: This DVD is available in most retailers nationwide for the SRP of $19.97. (I found it on Amazon for $14.99)!

Disclosure: This DVD was provided to me at no charge in exchange for a fair and honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
