Now I'm a frugal girl and I'm willing to try anything once and I've even been known to change my mind and start using a new product. Well that works for everything but laundry. Will I try a new laundry? Sure. Will I switch to that new laundry, usually no. I was brought up with my clothes being washed in Tide detergent and to this day I prefer to wash my clothes in Tide. My mom used Tide powder until the liquid detergent came out. I have used the liquid detergent until now! I'm sure you've seen them. Tide is trying to make laundry easier and quicker with the introduction of the new Tide Pods.
Tide Pods are exactly what the name says: little gel pods filled with Tide detergent. How do they make laundry easier? Well, for one you get the perfect amount of detergent in each load. No more measuring, no more spills. You just grab a pod, throw it in the washer and you're good to go. Second you have the multi chamber design that keeps hard water modifiers, stain fighters, perfume and whitener separate, allowing them to only mix when the wash water dissolves the gel packet. Finally, in order to help conserve energy and save money, Tide pods work perfect in cold water! Honestly, that's a big help for me because I only wash my clothes in cold water.
My Take: I received a few individual packages of the Tide Pods to try out in some of my normal washes. I figured the best way to see how they would work would be to try them with various loads. I first washed a load of towels, then a load of "mommy & daddy" clothes and then finally a load of the kids' clothes. So what did I think? First, it was super quick to get my loads started. I just grabbed a pod, threw it in our front loader, added the clothes and pushed start. Second, the smell. The first load of clothes I washed were the towels. There is nothing like nice smelling towels when you get out of the shower. I pulled the clothes out of the dryer and couldn't help but continue to smell them. The smell was great! I had the Spring Meadow scent but it also comes in Ocean Mist and Mystic Forest. I can't wait to try those too. Finally, how did they clean? Honestly, I'm a big Tide fan and these didn't appear to clean any better or worse than the other Tide formulas I have used. I was highly pleased with how they worked, especially on my husband's uniforms!
