Here's the problem. I have two preschool kiddos who have just stopped taking naps and have to get up early to go to school. Unfortunately, neither one of them are morning people, like their mommy, and after trying to get them dressed, put away clothes, get backpacks and brush teeth where do I find time to fix breakfast!?! Not to mention the on-going fight of what to eat for breakfast. Sometimes I look up and it's time to go and no one, including me has had a bite!
So what's the solution? I'm always looking for quick breakfast meal or breakfast snack that the kids and I can eat in the car on the way to school. My latest find: Quaker Soft baked bars. They come in two yummy flavors, Cinnamon Pecan Bread and Banana Nut Bread and are choked full of goodness. That goodness includes: 140 calories, 5g of Fiber, 6g of Protein and it's an excellent source of 5 B-Vitamins!
I'm thinking my favorite flavor would be the Banana Nut Bread. I loved when my grandmother would make banana bread when we were growing up and as a mom I would love to share that with my kids. BUT there's just one problem. I'm not much of a baker...LOL. I'd rather opt for that quick fix. The great thing about these bars are they are a qucik fix but they are also a wholesome food. On the other hand, my kids are cinnamon fans so they might prefer the CInnamon Pecan Bread. I mean, just look at how yummy it looks:
So how about you? Do you like to slave in the kitchen and make a nice wholesome breakfast or are you one of those moms, like me, that is always in a rush but still wants her kiddos (and herself) to get the nutrition they need? If you're like me, you might want to run out to your local store and pick you up a delcious Quaker Soft Baked Bar!
