May is for Mommies: Wahl Deep Tissue Massager

Mother's Day is coming soon! (Honestly I haven't even started shopping yet). My big plans are going to be running a 5K and after that I have nothing else on my list. However, this week I received this awesome item to review that will be a perfect Mother's Day gift.

Let me start by saying, #1- I don't like getting massages and #2 - I'm too frugal to pay for a massage! I'm just a little freaked out by some stranger putting their hands on me. SO I have the perfect solution:

THE WAHL Deep-Tissue Percussion Therapeutic Massager! I only have to pay once for multiple massages and I don't even have to leave my house! Let me tell you a little bit more about the massager. It is used for relieving pain and fatigue. It is a percussion massager that comes with four attachments (deep muscle, four-finger flex, accupoint, and raised bump). There is also a button that can be used to vary the speed of the vibration. Finally, instead of being operated by batteries this item has an electric cord to plug in!

My Take: So I've been training for this race for only about 4 weeks. The race is only a little over a week away so I've been training pretty intensely. Due to my strenuous workout I've been in some pain (ok so maybe it's just because I'm old but I'd rather blame it on the workouts). My feet and my legs are usually pretty fatigued. I took out my Wahl massager, plugged it in and decided to try it out. The deep muscle attachment was already on so I went with it. Wow! It was awesome on my legs! My husband of course wanted to try it out so I changed to the four-finger attachment for him. We had it on a lower speed and he said it was great on his back. We upped the speed and it still worked great, except for over bony parts...LOL. The booklet says that you can use it on the scalp but my husband hated it on his scalp. He actually said it was kind of painful!

Personally, I loved it. It's going to be great to use after my race. I think I only had two issues. First, it is a little on the heavy side. Second, I'm not sure that I like that it has to be plugged in. I was planning on taking it with me to use after the race but where do I plug it in?? Well, there is a simple solution to the last one. I'll just wait until I get home and then make my husband use it to massage my tired running legs...LOL

Buy it: The Wahl massagers can be purchased from Walmart or their website. The particular massager I reviewed retails for $59.99 or less.

And for those who would love to WIN a Wahl massager then you need to check out their Mother's Day Facebook giveaway. 1. Sounds great. I think my issue would be getting my husband to use it on me, he would be hogging it ;-)

  2. Looks great...I could really use a massage right now! :)

  3. Oh, this massager looks awesome. I have one that is sort of similar, but it's not nearly as fancy as this. This is definitely something that's going on my list of things to purchase. (BTW- my not so fancy one cost $70. I like that this one is less expensive!)

  4. A massage sounds so awesome right now! Thanks for sharing the review!

  5. I love my Wahl Massager! These things are awesome.

  6. I could go for a massage right about now so this sounds great!
