You mean I can pay with my phone? Murpay Txt.Pay.Go

Technology amazes me. I remember how excited I was to pay for my gas at the pump and not have to actually go into the store and wait in line. Well now, Murphy USA, one of my favorite gas stations has made it even easier. Yes, for all you folks out there attached to your cell phone, like me, you're going to love this one. The program is called MurPay Txt.Pay.Go.

Let me tell you how simple it is to sign up for this program. First you want to download the Murphy USA app to your phone. You can achieve this by heading to your phone's app store and searching for Murphy USA. Then head on over HERE and create an account with MurPay. It's actually really simple to register and it's free. Just fill out the simple form and you're ready to go.

There's so much to love about MurPay. You can use this system to pay for gas or even purchase items within the store! How cool is that. Here's a warning though. I thought I would be able to sign up and then go get my gas. Instead, you sign up and in order to verify your account MurPay will make a deposit and withdrawl to your checking account that you register with. Now this will take up to 24 hours for you to verify so don't expect to use the program immediately. (HINT- I learned this the hard way!)

Today was a beautiful, hot sunny day and I needed gas! I figured we would make it a family trip and anyone that has kids know that it is practically impossible to go inside to pay for gas! It's so much easier to do it from the pump! So I decided to try out MurPay. I was a little hesitant at first. I wasn't on empty and I wasn't sure how much to estimate asking for (I'll show you what I mean later). I decided on $40. That way I could get some gas and then the kids and I could run inside for a nice cool drink. It was simple. I opened the Murphy USA app on my phone:

Then I chose PAY with MurPay. I already have an account so this is the screen that comes up:

You just type in the amount you want to use (I typed in 40 for $40.00, it must be a whole dollar amount) and then submit. BTW- if you don't use the $40 don't worry. It will only charge your account the amount you actually use. Next you see:

Then off we went. When I pulled up to the pump I saw this on the screen:

I sent the text and they responded with a code to use at the pumps. I loaded up the kids and off we went. At the pump, using MurPay was super simple. First:

Choose txtpay (sorry the pic is a little blurry),

Then enter the code that was texted to you,
Finally, enter your CVN (kind of like your pin code) that you created during registration and wait for the real fun!
Gas was priced at $3.76 according to the pumps and the signs:

With Txt To Pay you get the lowest price that has been offered during the last 24 hours which just so happened to be $3.73! SCORE! I know that doesn't sound like a BIG difference but hey every little bit counts and what other gas station do you know of that will do the same?
After filling up and saving some change I decided that we would head inside and get a slurpee for the kids! Murphy USA is having a great deal where you can get a medium sized (32oz) fountain drink or slurpee for $.99! The store was packed! The kids picked their own flavors and I got one too! On the way out we hit up the Redbox and used our free rental code to get a movie to go along with our slurpees! Woo-hoo! What a great day!
If you want to get in on the fun be sure to head on over to TXTPay for Signups and create your account and t
