May is for Moms: Guylian Belgian Chocolates!

The past few years I avoided being traditional with my Mother's Day Gift Guide. For one thing, we all celebrate Mother's Day in different ways. Normally I don't get to do too much because my husband is usually deployed or getting ready to deploy and we're busy getting our household in order. So instead of just picking one day to celebrate we celebrate the whole month or pick our own Mom's Day. As a matter of fact, this year I'm celebrating Mom's Day by running a 5k race! How unorthodox is that?

However, I'm still a mom and I still have my mommy around. Which means that I'll be hunting for some Mother's Day gifts soon. And what's one things that mommy loves? Chocolate!

That is waaay to much chocolate for one woman. I don't think you would be able to handle me if I ate all of that! However, here are my thoughts. You knew I was going to try them out, right!? I chose one of the small sampler packs of two. It contained two cute little sea horse shaped chocolates. I'm a big fan of white chocolate so of course I was happy about that. It was dipped or drizzled or perfectly covered with yummy chocolate. Then you take a bite. It's a nice crisp little shell with this smooth creamy chocolate praline truffle inside. Divine, I tell you! I personally love to eat my chocolate with a nice glass or red wine or Moscato.

What's cool about Guylian is that they even have a page on their website devoted to the perfect drink pairings for each of their chocolates! For example, having a Belguim handcrafted ale with a Guylian belgium chocolate. Who would have thought of pairing a beer with a chocolate!?!
