Lady and the Tramp Diamond Edition Review!

I think I've seen every Disney movie made, animated or live action. It was my parents goal to expose us to every one! And of course now that I have kids, I have that same goal. It's so great to be able to share classics with them and relive them for myself. Today, February 7, 2012, Disney opened the vault so to speak and released the Diamond Edition of one of their most popular classics: Lady and the Tramp. It took me awhile to remember the whole story on this one so if you forgot, here's a refresher:

Synopsis: A classic love story unfolds in the best Disney tradition as a lovely young pedigreed cocker spaniel named Lady, who lives a pampered life, finds herself falling romantically for Tramp, an amorous street-smart pooch without prospects. Although they have fun together on several dates, including a sentimental spaghetti dinner by moonlight at Tony’s restaurant, their relationship is strained not only by Lady’s loyalty to her human family and their newborn baby, but by Tramp’s devil-may-care attitude that eventually gets Lady in trouble and tossed into the dog pound. However, good-hearted Tramp redeems himself by saving the baby from potential harm and thus wins Lady’s love and
the affection of her human family.

My Take: The kids saw this one sitting on the counter and couldn't wait to watch it. They are big dog fans, in fact they have been asking us for another dog! I personally, love the movie, and couldn't wait to sit down and watch it. I was singing, "tonight is the night" and waiting for that classic date night scene with the spaghetti noodle. I had forgotten about the other adorable dog characters other than the leads and that nasty ugly rat. The kids loved it. My son usually has the shortest attention span but he sat through and watched most of the movie. I think it's because it's full of action. From the dog pound, to the nasty rat, to date night everything kept their attention. It's a classic romantic movie about how opposites attract and how important loyalty is to a family. I would suggest this to anyone!

Buy it: This movie is in stores today for the SRP of $39.99.
