Hello 2012!

So I've been a little quiet for the past few weeks. Well, that was for many different reasons. One, it was the holidays. Two, I needed some time to reflect. Three, my husband is coming home soon and I need to get things ready.

What did I learn? Lots! I'm not much of a New Years resolution person but I am all about setting goals. I have a few personal and I guess you can say, professional goals that I want to share.

First and foremost, I spent my holiday spending time with my family and much needed time unplugged. Unplugged from the internet that is. My mom's house has limited internet access so I wasn't able to be on my blog or social media sites every day like I normally am. And the funny thing is...it felt good! Now don't get me wrong. I love technology. It keeps me connected to my husband but somewhere along the line I've gotten lost and I need to find my way back. For that reason, I'm spending more time with my family! This will be the first year that my husband doesn't deploy and it's going to be so nice to have him home. We've already made all these plans for family outings and get togethers and I can't wait! we will also take some much needed time to reconnect as a married couple and as a family unit. Heck, I've only seen him about 2.5 out of the 4.5 years that we have been married.

Enough of that though. I'm sure you're wondering what this means for my blog. Am I giving up blogging? Heck no! I couldn't live without it...LOL. However, I do have some new goals. Last year my goal was to get more organized with my blog. I think I made it halfway on that goal and I plan on making it all the way this year. This year my goal is to be more personal. I have a few friends who have started personal blogs and have mentioned that they love my blog but would also love to hear more personal stories. So be prepared to learn lots more about my family and my personal endeavors! It should be entertaining. For example, we took a walk today in 40 degree weather. Sure, that sounds great to many of you but it's cold to me. I bundled my little munchkins up and off we went with my neighbors. As soon as we got home I was completely energized. Nothing like spending time with family and friends and getting in a little workout!

So what is my personal/life goal for this year? It's the same as my goals for my blog. To be more personal. To connect more with my family and friends. Like my bloggy friend Christy says, "This is going to be the Best. Year. Ever. and I hope you will join me for the ride.

*note: don't worry! I'm still going to keep up the reviews, giveaways and deals. hehehe

  1. I'm glad your husband will be home this year. Although we live in a military area, I don't always think about the sacrifices made by the whole families of service people (thank you to you and your husband for his service).
    Happy New Year!!
