Thanks to an awesome community I'm in, I'm getting the chance to really enjoy my Christmas. After interacting with the other members in the group, hearing how they decorate, how they celebrate, what their families do; I figured it just wouldn't be fair for my children to NOT join in and celebrate with decorations. Thanks to Sears and Collective Bias I was able to shop for some awesome festive decorations to adorn my house. I love shopping at Sears because they do so much to support our military and that really means a lot to me. I give them my business because they support my family with programs like the Heroes at Home Christmas program.
I'm not a Black Friday warrior so I waited until Monday to do my shopping. First, I looked online at Sears.com to get some ideas. I loved the decor but I wasn't really happy with the prices. It also leaned heavy on the outdoor and actual tree decorations in their inventory so I was a little worried when I went shopping. However, I went in with the theme of "Kid friendly". I love decorating really simple, and modern but I know that can be kind of boring for the kids so I wanted to stick with the red, green and gold color theme but still make it fun!
So I walk into the store and run right into the Christmas stuff. Funny, it was right near the tools. Maybe that's to get the guys into decorating mode...hehehe. I mean they can use all the cool tools to put up all the decorations we buy! I must admit I'm not really that creative so I loved the Christmas tree and outside lighting displays (sorry the trees didn't look blurry on my phone):
Suddenly, I was shocked! Where do I start? I came in with a simple plan and decided that I wanted to buy everything. It did and didn't help that everything was anywhere from 30-50% off! Take that Black Friday shoppers. I was still getting a good deal without the crowds! SCORE!
I knew I had a few things in the house so there wasn't too much that I really needed. I wanted some bows to decorate my garland and I wanted a big bow for the entrance way.
I also needed some lights for a few areas, just because I love Christmas lights. Normally I go for the clear but I also got colored for the kids. And the sales lady talked me into being energy efficient and getting the LED ones...LOL.
So here's a picture of my complete stash! Can you believe how much I got for a total of $112!?! Have I started decorating? Yes! Am I finished? NO! That's my plan for this weekend. I'll get that post up early next week so you can see how awesome it looks (and hear all my mishap stories, like putting up the garland and then it all falling down) and my photo album story of my shop and the final results!
Don't forget, not only can you get great decorations, including Christopher Radko ornaments and Ty Pennington inspired decor, but also LIVE trees, wreaths and greenery!
