HDG Review: Prep and Landing

Since it was a holiday week you won't be surprised to know that the holiday cartoons were showing. I saw one or two Thanksgiving related ones but the rest were all...you guessed it...Christmas themed ones! I was actually surprised to see that one of my favorites from last year didn't show. Instead they were advertising about a new episode that is airing this year. If you don't know I'm talking about my two favorite elves, Wayne and Lanny, stars of Disney's Prep and Landing! Prep and Landing actually just came out on DVD this past week on Tuesday, November 22.

PREP & LANDING is an adorable holiday story about a high-tech team of elves who ensure homes around the world are properly prepared for their visit from Santa. After working for a tireless 227 years, an elf named Wayne, voiced by Dave Foley (Disney●Pixar’s A Bug’s Life, Toy Story 2, Cars), is upset when he doesn’t receive an expected promotion. Instead he is partnered with an idealistic rookie elf named Lanny, voiced by Derek Richardson (TV’s “Men in Trees”), to execute a special Christmas Eve mission. While on their journey, Wayne and Lanny encounter unexpected challenges that push them to their limits and ultimately threaten Christmas for children around the world. Bonus features include entertaining Elf training videos shot in Santa’s workshop, "Operation Secret Santa" and much more!

My Take: I adore this cartoon. We always see those serious moral stories about Santa and the reindeer and some corny little elf. yeah call me scrooge. My favorite christmas movie growing up was A Christmas Story so that should explain it. :/ Now in Prep and Landing, you have some high tech elves with some super cool tools! I couldn't help but giggle when they went around the house with their night specs, not to mention how they disarm obstacles...aka a puppy guarding the house...hehehe. Even my kids thought the movie was funny! Of course their favorite part was Santa Claus, poor elves never get the love! Overall we loved the movie and we've even shared it with the kids next door. It's a great and entertaining Christmas movie for the whole family!
Buy it: This DVD is available now for the SRP of $19.99 U.S. / $24.99 Canada. It's only 22 minutes long which is prefect for little kids and attention spans! Not to mention it was also the highest kids rating (kids ages 2-11), for any primetime telecast on broadcast TV in 2009 but we also need to add it was a hit with my husband...hehehe. He even dvr'd it that year. I know he's going to be happy that we now own it.

Now if I still don't have you convinced check out this clip:
