#Giveaway: Support #breastcancerawareness with #samsclub and #generalmills

For those who don't know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! I know it's the first week in October and I plan on posting something each week about Breast Cancer Awareness. So I figured why not start out with a GIVEAWAY! Everyone loves a good giveaway. This giveaway is coming to you from MyBlogSpark, Sam's Club and General Mills.

If you're like me and shop in Sam's Club regularly, you notice when something special is going on. I just went into Sam's Club a few days ago and there was pink on lots of my favorite products. In support of Breast Cancer Awareness most of the products you purchase with pink on the packaging or the pink ribbon will give some of the proceeds made from purchasing them to Breast Cancer Awareness programs.

For 5 years, General Mills has partnered with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Foundation to bring breast cancer support to local communities, and this year they are making their annual donation of $2 million to the foundation to advance breast cancer research and support education and community outreach projects.

Here's what you can do to help: Purchase specially-marked General Mills products like Cheerios and Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies at your local Sam’s Club and then head on over to PinkTogether.com and help decide how half of that contribution will be donated by voting from now until April 14, 2012.

The money General Mills will receive will be divided between two important Komen programs: the Treatment and Assistance Program, which assists women in securing care they otherwise may not be able to afford, and Prevention Research, which helps unlock the keys to preventing breast cancer. Voting results will be announced on Mother’s Day 2012.

And to get one lucky person started I have a $25 Sam's Club gift card to giveaway. This giveaway will begin October 6 and end on October 19. It is open to the US only. Just fill out the simple Rafflecopter form to enter. GOOD LUCK!

Disclosure: The information and gift card was provided to me by MyBlogSpark in exchange for sharing this information. All ideas and opinions are my own.
