OK honestly, I must admit I wasn't sure how much I would find in terms of pizza party throwing materials at a gas station. Sure, you might find pizza and you might find drinks but what else can you find? I made a list that included the basics: pizza, drinks, cups, plates, and dessert. It was a simple and broad list because I wasn't sure what I would find. I wanted to go in with an open mind. Forunately, if you check out my This Moment shop you will see that I found most of what I needed and lots of other great ideas. The only thing I didn't find was plates and cups! I also want to point out that lots of the great ideas I saw weren't exactly priced as reasonable as I would have liked. For example, one fruit cup was over a $1. I just couldn't see myself buying that when I had some fresh fruit and bulk fruit cups already at home.
So how do you throw a party for a bunch of preschoolers. First, plan simple. Their attention span lasts for about 30 seconds....lol....just kidding but honestly it is really short. They won't care for a lot of flare or lots of flash. Second, Try to be well rounded. It's a pizza party! Of course you're going to have pizza, we chose the 4 cheese Red Baron single serves but you also want healthy options available too. My kids decided to add yogurt to the menu. We also added some chips that I bought at Walmart too. As for the drinks, I let the kids pick and they went the semi healthy, semi active way. They both picked out what color Gatorade they wanted. I picked out Mt. Dew for the moms! We need the extra caffeine. And of course desserts! IT's been nice and breezy here so the perfect dessert was ice cream! Push Pops are great for less of a mess! And bon bons are perfect for the moms to share. If you want to check out my shopping experience then head on over and view my this moment shop!
|yep! Mommy's cleaned their plates!|
Third, and finally, let the kids help. My kids help pick out the plates (sure they were Halloween plates but it doesn't matter) and then they set up their own table, including picking out what color chair they wanted and sitting up the yogurt and spoons. And that's all it takes! I didn't make anything different or special (preschoolers tend to be really picky and I hate to throw away food. The only entertainment we had was the TV (you can see them looking at it in some of the pictures). Voila! Perfect party!
