Now I must warn you, my kids think they are pirates already! They run around the house squinting (they can't wink yet) and saying "argh! I'm a pirate". They love pirates so much that I'm actually dressing up like a pirate this Halloween. (Think Keira Knightly from Pirates of the Caribbean). That made this perfect timing for us to throw a Pirate party. So here's what I did. I took all the awesome goodies I was sent and made treat bags for all the kids:
- a pirate hat
- eye patch
- two tattoos
- two golden doubloons (edible of course)
- two non edible golden doubloons
- pirate bandana
- skull and crossbones necklace (not pictured...my son ran off with it...hehehe)
- Jake and the Neverland Pirates DVD
- and a treat bag to put all the pirate booty in!
You can see in the bottom right picture my son was trying to make a pirate face and say, "ARGH"! And what's a party without deep sea treats. We made some deep sea diving aquariums with fish (blue jello with shark bites fruit snacks) and some hidden pirates gold (kix cereal with blue yogurt and shark bites fruits snacks swimming on top). Now the pictures aren't too pretty but the snacks were super yummy! (There was also cannonballs (peanut butter balls) but the parents ate them up...LOL
Disclosure: I was provided with the DVDs and materials for this party along with a GC to purchase snacks by Disney in exchange for throwing the party and later posting a review of the DVD.
