TracFone: Keeping a check on teens cell phone usage!

This post brought to you by TracFone. All opinions are 100% mine.

My kids are super young but I'm still thinking about when they will want their first cell phone. More like, when will I allow them to have their first cell phone...LOL. I know how much of an issue this is because when I was a school counselor I had a ton of parents coming in about how to stop their kids from using their cell phones so much. And I worked in an elementary school!!

Are you looking for some help this summer with your cell phone bill? Are you searching for a low cost phone for your kids so you can keep in touch with them? Have you struggled in the past finding phones to fit your family’s needs? Well, Tracfone wants to help! They are the lease expensive way to buy cell phones in America. There are no contracts, no credit checks, no activation charges or cancellation fees. And you don't just get some generic looking phone. Oh now, Tracfone can offer you phones from manufacturers like Motorola, Kyocera, LG, Nokia and Samsung. They even have blue-tooth enabled phones and smartphones! Now that's my kind of company!

The coverage is also a big issue for me. However, they have an awesome area of coverage. You can even make international calls to over 60 destinations! But don't take it from me: check out this video.

Now here's the real question: How much will it cost me? I know I said it was cheap but here's more details on the monthly plans:

• Pay as you go online or with cards available at thousands of retail stores across the country.

• 1 year service cards give you so much more. Receive double minutes for the life of your TracFone, and 800 minutes, for only $119.00

• “Double minutes for the life of your phone” is a feature that can be purchased separately for only$19.99, but some phones include it!

• Choose monthly plans with 200 minutes for under $30.00, and as low as $9.99 for 50 minutes

  1. I think it's very important for a woman with kids to read web sites like yours, to stay in touch with trends and prices and what's the latest helpful tips. It's great to relate to other mothers in the same position as yourself.
I'm on such a great deal with Tracfone that I thought I'd share it with you ladies. I'm paying $27.96/month in total for my family of four for our cell phone budget, where one person gets 50 minutes for $9.99/month and the other 3 members get 40 minutes for $5.99 ea.
I find this plan is enough to keep in touch with the kids and for those small emergencies.
