Review & Giveaway: Animal ABCs and Animal 123s

My daughter is beginning part-time preschool for three year olds this fall. I'm a lot excited and a little scared. It will be my baby's first time in "school" and she can't wait. Me, on the other hand. Well, I just don't know. I'm a former school counselor and know first hand the importance of having your child ready to enter school so I'm already trying to prep her. We've started some basic math skills and of course learning our ABCs and 123s. So when I heard that NCircle Entertainment had two great new DVDs coming out on July 12, 2011 that would help with these skills I couldn't wait to watch them. An even better surprise was to know that they revolved around my son's favorite thing- animals!

Animal ABCs and Animal 123s

Synopsis
Introduce preschoolers to letters and numbers using the amazing animal kingdom!  Animal ABCs and Animal 123’s strengthens letter, number and animal name recognition by teaching children about animals from around the globe. Sing along as we explore Earth’s animals, from the cute and cuddly to the wild and wonderful.  These DVDs include fun facts, unique songs and a bonus sections with flashcards.  Practicing your ABCs and 123s has never been so fun!

My Take: This DVD is recommended for ages 2-6. Well that is perfect for my kiddos who are ages 2.5 and 3.5! Of course we all what to know what the experts thought and by experts I mean my two little ones. Well at first it was a little slow for them. They loved the animals but they were tired of the repetition and seeing the letters. I think they thought it would be more of a story instead of scenes of animals. However, the more I incorporated the letters and counting into the video watching experience, the more they liked it. Now they have watched it a few times and they like to sit back and say the letters they know and try to count along with the numbers. I really think as a parent, that they are picking up some letters and especially numbers! I love it!

Buy it: Each video has a running time of 60 minutes per video. They are available from NCircle Entertainment starting on July 12, 2011.

Win it: I have a copy of each DVD to give away to one lucky reader! How cool is that. This giveaway will begin on July 9 and end on July  24. It is open to the US only. Just fill out the simple form to enter!
