I know that everyone is a little wary of using coupons after watching Extreme Couponing and the backlash it is having on stores. Trust me, I feel your pain. I went to Babies R Us on Monday to try and get the diapers for $5 deal and luckily found 2 packs of Fisher Price diapers left in my son's size. There were only a few N and a few size 3 left. It had to be less than 20. The cashier told me that a lady had bought 20 packs of diapers at one time the previous day.
Now does that prevent me from using coupons? No. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Today I had a win that I just had to share with you. I shared with my fans on my Facebook page (that's where I post most coupons and freebies so go ahead and LIKE me!) a coupon for $10 off a $10 purchase at Pier 1. Well I went shopping today and this is what I got:
- 4 classic stemwear martini glasses on sale for $1.99 each TOTAL: $7.96
- 4 ramekins TOTAL: $6.00
After $10 off coupon: $3.96
with tax Final OOP Total: $4.24
How awesome is that! So coupons are totally worth it. You can be like me and just use coupons when there is a really great deal and you see something you need or want. It's less stressful than full time clipping and it still helps you save money. Now do I want to be a better coupon clipper? Sure. But I'm taking it slow and working my way up. I could have just bought 5 martini glasses and found a super cheap filler item and paid about $1 but I got what I needed and still saved a bundle!
So what kind of couponer are you? A Full time clipper, a buy what I need, grocery queen or what? I 'm sure there are other kinds and I would love to know how you do your couponing!
