What I like about #Verizon FiOS!

Ok first you might be wondering, what is Verizon FiOS! Let me tell you, I was right there with you. I had seen commercials about it but since we have another phone service I have never even considered checking out what they have to offer. Can I explain what FiOS is? Not in my own words. If so it would look something like, internet through your TV, phone and other devices. That's about all I knew about it. But here's how Verizon explains it:

Modern consumers enjoy the ultimate digital lifestyle at work, home and play with Verizon FiOS advanced and integrated TV and broadband services.  The speed and intelligence of the nation’s largest all-fiber-optic network lets FiOS customers create personalized, integrated entertainment and information experiences that connect them to everything they care about -- anytime, anywhere, on a multitude of devices.  FiOS helps make life easier, more productive and more fun.

A heck of a lot snazzier than I could explain it. After reading that I just had to know more, especially after seeing the more productive part. I really need to improve in that area! There are so many great features to the FiOS including:

Flex View “Watch what you want, where you want”
  • With Flex View, you can buy, rent and watch on-demand video titles on your FiOS TV, on your computer or on your mobile phone.

Media Manager
  • Media Manager is a Verizon service that lets you access media content that either resides on or is streamed from your PC.

TV Widgets
  • Verizon FiOS features awesome TV widgets like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, allowing you to Tweet directly from your TV, using your remote while watching TV. Yes, with FiOS, you can watch Modern Family and Tweet about the scary but true similarities between your husband and Ed O’Neill. Or update your Facebook status with “Yes, the kids are FINALLY in bed!” and virtually high-five with your fellow moms---all directly from your TV.

FiOS Internet: “Internet as fast as it gets”

In-home Agent
  • In-Home Agent is a PC application that provides you with fast, easy solutions for common FiOS & High Speed Internet questions. It's 24/7 support at the click of your mouse.
Now what's my favorite and what would make me want to try out Verizon FiOS? I would have to say the internet is my number one choice! Obviously I'm on the internet all day long with my blogging but I don't have a super fast connection. A faster connection would be a BIG plus. Think about all the deals and steals I could share with you if I had that.

I also like the appeal of the widgets. I didn't even know what a widget was until I started blogging. Now I see them everywhere. And all they had to do was tell me they could make it easier for me to multitask by watching Modern Family (one of my face shows) and tweeting or posting to Facebook at the same time.

I guess the final reason I love FiOS is that it combines everything. You can have your internet, phone, TV all in the same bill. Yeah, sure I know most companies do that now but we never combine the packages because there is always something we don't like or they aren't all compatible. Well that doesn't seem to be the issue with Verizon!

Now I'm sure you're wondering, why don't I have FiOS? Well that's a simple answer. It's a little thing called contracts. Currently we are under contracts with our other companies and I guess we'll just have to wait until those are up before we can try FiOS. But until then I will be keeping up with all the new and fun things Verizon FiOS will be adding! =) Wanna know more? See if your ‘hood has FiOS!
