Review: Max and Ruby LIVE!

We've all heard the song, we've all seen the cartoon, we've all wondered, "WHERE ARE THE PARENTS"? Now you can see the two lovable characters, Max and Ruby LIVE in Bunny Party, a 70 minute show all about "these two beloved characters try to decide on the perfect gift for their “Super Duper Special Birthday
Guest.” Along the way they will encounter some unexpected visitors, including an engaging Robot, a giant Spider, and an adorable Slug".

Last night we had the opportunity to see this show performed in our hometown. First, I have to thank Max and Ruby for helping my kids sleep through the night. The past two weeks I have been telling them if they stay in their rooms all night then they will get to see Max and Ruby. And lo and behold, IT WORKED! They were so super excited yesterday when we said we were going.

As soon as we got to the theater my kids, actually my husband was entranced with the souvenir stand. It was small but they were offering t-shirts, books, stuffed Max and Rubys and these awesome light up wands. We decided to by pass all this and find our seats. They were perfect! They were right in the middle of the room, center stage. Not too close and not too far away. Now when you are in a room full of preschoolers you need something to entertain them. I was excited that there was music playing and there were two big light show circles of Max and Ruby showing on the walls of the theater.

Of course there was also the lighted wands. As you can see, my kids just had to have those (along with almost every other kid in the room...LOL).
However, as soon as the show started the kids actually got quiet and were ready to watch. There were four "human" narrators to lead you through the story with songs and activities. I don't want to give too much away but my son loved the dancing robot and my daughter loved the ballerina. Check out my pics!

And for all you parents out there who are like me- they do answer the question of "Where are the parents/" but that's all I'm going to tell you. I don't want to give away who the special guest was or any of the other fun surprises.

Overall I must say it was a cute little show! There was a 15 minute intermission halfway through (great for potty breaks but a little too long for little kids). It was a little hard to get all the kids back into the show after the break but the cast did a great job of having the kids participate in the birthday party (singing Happy Birthday and dancing). My kids loved it! It was a great family activity and it was the first time they had been to a LIVE show! I'm so pleased with how well it went that my husband and I are already looking for other shows for them to see.
