Black & Decker Ultimate Sandwich Recipe Contest

When I saw this contest on the Family Review Network I knew it was right up my alley. I love to make sandwiches. My grandmother used to make us the best hoagies growing up; she even created her own sauces to put on them. So of course that wore off on me and I love to create my own sandwiches to eat for my favorite meal of the day- LUNCH! So here's my task: Create an ultimate sandwich using the Black & Decker Convection Countertop Oven.

Now before I even share my entry I have to share one thing. As soon as my family heard about this contest they all wanted to join in. Okay, not everyone, the little one didn't care. So the first entry is my daughter's sandwich: cheese and sauce is what she called it:
That was the beginning the end result had a piece of turkey and lots of chick-fil-a sauce on it. She didn't want me to take a picture so we'll leave off her recipe...hehehe.

Next up is my personal entry: I call it "Everything but the Kitchen Sink"...because I love to put everything I can find on my sandwiches. Here's a toasted picture and the final result:

hoagie bun
cheddar & colby jack cheese mix
mozarella & provolone cheese mix
Honey Ham
Herb roasted Turkey
mustard & mayo mix
banana peppers
garlic and pepper onion strings
Take hoagie bun and split into half. Take next 5 ingredients and layer them on one side of sandwich (in any order you would like). I also like to place one slice of cheese on top piece of bun so that it gets nice and gooey too. Place sandwich in toaster oven and toast until cheese begins to melt and meat starts to look a little cooked. Then take sandwich out. Put mustard/mayo mix on top. Then add lettuce, tomato, banana peppers; place onion strings on other half of sandwich. Finally, sprinkle oil, vinegar, and oregano over both sides. Close and cut! YUMMY!

Finally, we have my husband's entry. I'm going to let him type up the recipe. He calls it the Italian Style Meatasorous. He just had to take all those pictures!!

6 slices of pepperoni
4 slices of turkey pastrami
6 inch Italian link sausage
2 slices of tomatoes
2 slices of pepper jack cheese
Spicy Brown Mustard
2 slices of sour dough bread

I started with cutting the 6 inch Italian link sausage in half, ensuring that it stayed connected by the skin on one side.  Then assemble pepperoni, turkey pastrami, sausage, pepper jack cheese on the sour dough bread and put it in the toaster oven until all is hot and cheese is melted.  Then once removed, had tomatoes and spicy brown mustard.  An after thought is that I would have added black olives, but didn't buy it when we to the store to buy tomatoes.  I also didn't think about it but I would have added pickles and that would push this already awesome sandwich over the top.  Yes, I believe my sandwich is way better than my wife's.
