Review: Flav Water

I'm the worse at drinking water and it's no wonder my kids are the same way. Now don't get me wrong I like to drink water, however, I like to drink water even more if it has a taste...LOL. I've been there and done that with Crystal Light and it's just not my favorite. The only flavor I really liked was peach Iced Tea. That is the reason I'm always on the lookout for something new and fun to try when it comes to the water-type beverages!

My latest find is Flav Water. Let me tell you a little bit about them. Here's what you see when you first visit the site:

Flav doesn’t claim to make your nails grow an inch a day, or get you through a marathon with only a week of training. Flav makes only one promise: explosive bold flavor every time! A beverage that keeps it simple, encouraging you to have a good time and experience life in living color. What’s your Flav?

Flav is a fruit flavored aerated water that comes in 8 yummy flavors!

My Take: I was so excited to review Flav but I must add in a disclaimer. If you are looking for a good for you water drink then Flav is not the answer. It's not really what I would call a healthy water substitute with no calories or sugars. However, it a low calorie, flavor blasting alternative to water! I received three of the flavors to try: pineapple, grape and watermelon kiwi. I must say I loved them all and it had me wanting to try more! Not only are these drinks refreshing but the taste is amazing. I've always seen people drink that plain sparkling water and wondered how they did it, even if they mixed it with their drinks. Now with Flav I can be one of those people. I heard it's even good mixed with adult beverages in cocktails but I haven't tried any yet.

What I love about Flav is the bottle. It comes in this awesome plastic container that looks like one of those small soda cans. BUT it's plastic and clear. Not only does it look hip and cool but then you open it. It opens like a regular can of soda and when you drink it you might think you are drinking soda. There is such an awesome taste that it will take you back to childhood when you were drinking those grape sodas. You know what I'm talking about! I got to try three of the flavors: pineapple, watermelon kiwi (yes something other than the normal strawberry kiwi) and grape! I love them all. And so do my kids. I couldn't keep them away.

Speaking of kids, I don't feel bad about giving this to my kids. First, the cans are super small, only 12oz so I can split it between the kids and there are only 80 calories in each serving...much, much less than a soda. Right now I refuse to give soda to my kids so this is a great alternative!

I only have one negative to share about this drink...okay maybe two but they go hand in hand. One, they are not sold everywhere. Right now they are only available in 22 states (North Carolina is included although no stores are close to me) and two, I didn't get a chance to try all 8 flavors! =) Hopefully now that Flav just announced that they are one of the sponsors for the BET Music Matters Tour they will get more people to request them in stores!

Buy it: As mentioned above, Flav is available in 22 states and available in 8 flavors: pineapple, watermelon kiwi, grape, peach, apple, cherry, mango and orange. You can go HERE to find a retailer near you. And to keep up with Flav be sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook!
