My Aspirations and plans for 2011

Wow! The new year is almost here and it's time to start thinking about what I'm going to do to make my life faboulous next year. Well, who else better to help than everyone's favorite person, Oprah!

As we all sadly know, Oprah is no longer hosting her own talk show. However, she has moved on to bigger and better things...a new network that will be know as OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network. OWN is a multi-platform media company designed to entertain, inform and inspire people to live their best lives. It will be debuting on January 1, 2011 (what perfect timing)  in approximately 80 million homes on what is currently the Discovery Health Channel. During the OWN launch weekend, viewers will have the chance to see a little of everything OWN has to offer. OWN programming includes original series and specials, all focused on entertaining, informing and inspiring people to live their best lives.I know I can't wait to check it out!

So in celebration of the beginning of this new network OWN wants to know what are my aspirations and plans for new possibilities in my life for 2011! Well, where do I start? First, we're moving into a new house. This was a big venture for me. I actually picked out, purchased, and will move into this new house without the help of my husband because he is deployed. That right there speaks lengths to what I'm looking forward to in the new year. This is the first time my husband has been deployed and I've been left alone with both kids. Sure, he's been deployed before but we didn't have the kids. I've found a new independence and freedom that was hard to cope with in the beginning but has really made me a strong and proud woman. I know that I can take care of business without my husband and still be able to support him as a loving wife even though he is miles away. I plan on continuing this new found independence into the new year!

Not only that I want to be a real home decorator. I know that sounds corny but we move so much that I never have a chance to really decorate our house. We are planning on being here for another 8 years so it's the perfect time to make our house a home! I've already started shopping around online and talking to friends about how to decorate our new place. I'm so excited about actually having things on my wall. That's something that we never really have because it's such a pain to move so often with the military. I also plan on posting my progress with decorating on my blog throughout the year. That way I will have something that will be in writing and pictures, that will last forever (and not get hidden in our stuff), to look back at!

I also plan to grow my blog. This was a venture I started this year just because I wanted something to do in my free time as a SAHM. Well, I never knew it would turn into a business! My blog has grown in leaps and bounds and I'm so proud of it. Next year I just want to capitalize on it more making it the best it can be. I want to become more organized, reach out more to companies and actually starting writing more quality content that will help not only my readers but other organizations. It's something that I have kind of slipped away from in the past few months. So look out for big things happening on Mommy's Free Time next year.

So that's what I plan and aspire to do in the new year. What about you? What do you want to do to make your life AB FAB (absolutely fabulous) in 2011?? I'd love to hear!

  2. Go Emmi! Please thank your hubby for his service to our country. It must be very hard to be deployed and I give you big kudos for all you've done in his absence. May 2011 bring you a beautifully decorated home and much success.
