Review & Giveaway: Bubble Chocolate

I love chocolate so when I heard about this "new" bubble chocolate I was hyped to try it out. I've never heard of bubbles in your chocolate and was interested in what that meant.

The Product: What are bubbles wrapped in chocolate? Well, this is not a new concept for Europeans. However, Bubble Chocolate is the first aerated chocolate made in the U.S. Chocolate with bubbles or aerated chocolate to those across the seas is exactly that. Chocolate with visible bubbles in it. Getting the bubbles in the chocolate is a very delicate process. First, the bubbles are infused through the chocolate at just the right time and temperature and then the chocolate is molded and cooled so that the outside remains smooth and the inside retains the bubble structures.

Why add the bubbles? According to Bubble Chocolate the best way to enjoy chocolate is when its melting point is closest to body temperature. (I think the best way to enjoy chocolate is with coke...yeah...I'm a little weird). Well the bubbles speed up this process, causing the chocolate to melt quicker on your tongue creating a unique creamy texture. (That just sounds yummy typing it)

My Take: Wow! This was some good chocolate. I tried the milk chocolate first. I followed what the website says on how to best enjoy the chocolate. I took a small piece, let it melt a little and then chewed. It did taste like European chocolate which is a different taste than most chocolate made in the US. However, I think the texture is what really won me over. It was like eating a chocolate truffle. Rich, creamy, silky, and melting in your mouth without really chewing. My husband on the other hand didn't understand why you had to eat small pieces and just thought it tasted like any other chocolate.

I also had a bar of the Dark chocolate. I always hear that Dark Chocolate is better for you because of flavanols and cocoa. (Bubble Chocolate's milk chocolate contains 38% cocoa while the Dark contains 60%). I'm not really fond of the taste of the dark chocolate but then again there isn't much dark chocolate that I do eat. Yet, the texture was the same! Nice and smooth.

Overall this was some good chocolate. It is a different tasting experience and that's why I like it. You do have to be prepared for it to taste different than the regular Dove or Hershey's milk or dark chocolate but remember to concentrate on the texture of the chocolate.
