Review & Giveaway: Deva Curl Hair Products

Let me begin by saying: I hate doing my hair! So you can imagine the boat I was in when I had a little girl...nonetheless a little girl with super curly hair! If you haven't guessed, my hair is straight so what do I know about curly hair. Like any other mom, I tried using the Johnson and Johnson products on Big LuvBug's hair and it didn't help. SO, I jumped on the computer and started researching hair products for curly hair and came across Deva Curl. I contacted the company and shared my story asking for advice. They were so awesome! They quickly responded, giving me tons of information on their story, their products and then offered me a few to try on LuvBug! YAH!

History: Deva Curl was created by Lorraine Massey who wanted to share her curly hair secrets with others. Those secrets are: 1. Curly hair needs to be treated differently. (boy did I ever know that) and 2. Shampoo is the enemy (really didn't know that! You should have seen all the soapy shampoos I had tried on LuvBug!) What's the solution? The Deva Curl line of products!
Deva Curl is a botanically drenched, 100% sulfate free hair care system.
Deva removed the harsh, dehydrating detergents that create lather " which is purely aesthetic and does not clean the hair " and infused a high concentration of cleansing and moisturizing botanicals that rejuvenate, restore, and respect your hair's natural order. (taken from website)

The Products: I already loved what I read about Deva Curl, now I wanted to see if it would work. Big LuvBug gets major tangles and at times her hair is super dry. As I said before Johnson and Johnson products just didn't work. Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo was too drying and the detangler just made it too straight and stringy! Dana, the consultant that I emailed suggested I try Deva Curl's No Poo Cleanser, one condition, and Mist-er Right (gotta love that name) on Big LuvBug. Big LuvBug is only two and she felt these products would be gentle enough for her age. I know a lot of mom's worry about using harsh products on their kids' hair but since Deva Curl is pretty much natural it is safe for most ages. (I even use it on my 1 year old son!)

The Verdict: did it work? I'll let you be the judge. I'll show a before and after picture of LuvBug!

After Pictures:

These pictures are right after bath time. I just used the shampoo and conditioner during her bath and then spritzed a little Mist-er Right (refreshes curls) on after I had styled it! To me it looks super cute and way more manageable. No more tangles! And no more crying!! I'm a new convert! We will be using this from now on! And as Lil LuvBug gets older we will use it on him more often. Stay tuned for pictures!
