Review & Giveaway: Cowgirl Chocolates

Cowgirl Chocolates

I'm not much on chocolate but I kept hearing about this Cowgirl Chocolates that you just had to try. No one really told me much about it, except that it was spicy. Well, I'm thinking spicy as in "hot mama" or this product is "hot"! Boy was I in for a surprise; but more about that later. I contacted Cowgirl Chocolates and was excited when Mariyln- the head cowgirl (yes that is what her email signature says....love it!) agreed to send me a sample box to try and review.

History: Mariyln Lysohir created Cowgirl Chocolates in 1997. Her love for chocolate probably began with her first job- working in a chocolate factory, can you say YUMM! She wanted to create something new and memorable and that's how Cowgirl Chocolates was created!
These chocolates come in many different varieties and flavors. There are truffles (which I got to sample), truffle bars, spicy caramels, dessert sauces, hot chocolates, and I even saw Chocolate bunnies for Easter! And the flavors...where do I start? Flavors range from Mild pure milk chocolate to Buckin' Hot Habanero caramel! There's a little something for everyone, even the little buckeroos!

The Verdict: This is what I got when I opened my box:

How cute is that? I thought it was a birthday present. I was so ecstatic. I was just sampling the product and it came like a gift. That makes me think this company really cares about their customers. I mean, who takes the time to make something that cute and intricate if you don't care???

And then I opened the box. Nothing unusual there. An assortment of chocolates wrapped up in colored foil with a caramel in the middle. I figured I would eat them the way I eat Valentine's candy. Take a bite out of each and figure out what it is. Well, Cowgirl Chocolates has the guessing game covered. Inside was a cute little legend, telling you what each flavor was based on the color of the foil. All I had to do was pick what I wanted to try first. I'm not very creative so I started at the top. Spicy Raspberry Dark Chocolate. I took a bite, yum love a creamy center. And then I paused. What was that I tasted? Was that hot? Hot as in spicy, this has a kick? Why yes it was! All I could do was smile and get a glass of water. Yeah it was that spicy! I loved it! I couldn't wait to share. So I spent the rest of the week letting my family and friends try the chocolates without telling them the secret! Everyone loved it! They had never heard of spicy chocolates and like me, didn't think they would like it. My mom can't wait to buy some. Guess I know what she's getting for Mother's Day!!

My favorite so far is the Spicy Cappuccino. Yes I say so far because I haven't finished them all. I'm savoring every last bit before I buy more! Does that mean I couldn't give a fair review? Of course not! So far out of the 4 I've tried, I've loved them all! I don't see that changing with the remaining ones!

Overall score: Two thumbs up! I really can't think of anything negative to say!
