Review & Giveaway: Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce

Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce

I love condiments! I put some sort of sauce on almost everything I eat. I put hot sauce on mac and cheese, I put A-1 on steak, I put vinegar on green beans, and I dip fries into lots of sauces! I was so excited when I saw that you could request a coupon for a free bottle of Country Bob's that I rushed to print it out! Yes! Another sauce to add to my list. BUT, you can't buy it anywhere near me so what was the point of printing the coupon?

I contacted Country Bob's and let them know that they didn't sell the sauce anywhere near me! Al Malekovic quickly got back to me and let me know that he would send me two bottles to try! I was so excited, I couldn't wait!

The History: Yes, there is actually a Country Bob and yes he did create the sauce. In 1968, Country Bob Edson started perfecting his own all purpose sauce. In the 70s he started selling it, after trying it out on friends and family. In 1982, he, along with 3 others, formed their own corporation to produce and sell this awesome sauce. Country Bob's sauce began it's humble beginnings in Illinois and is now sold across the country. They have expanded from the Original All Purpose Sauce to include: a BBQ sauce, Seasoning Salt, and a Spicy all purpose sauce.

The Verdict: As soon as I received the sauce I noticed that it said Steak, Hamburgers, chicken, fries....what! Hold up! was that my favorite food mentioned? Yes FRIES! I have been known to try anything on my fries (except mayo) so I was anxious to see if this would pass the test. So that night for dinner, we had fries. As soon as I poured the sauce I got that rich, a little bbq, a little spicy smell...YUMM. I dipped in a fry, put it in my mouth, and sighed! Yes, it was that good! I now have a new dipping sauce! BUT...here's the kicker! My husband, who only uses BBQ sauce for his fries, couldn't get enough of Country Bob's sauce! He loves it and uses it for his fries all the time now!

With the sauce came a small pamphlet that mentioned a few recipes. Now I'm not a cook but I wanted to try some out to really give the sauce a chance to work it's magic. The recipes in the pamphlet were a little too time consuming for me so I went to their website and found one that was perfect for me: Barbeque Cups. This quick and easy dish only has a few ingredients and takes about 30 minutes to prep and cook. I would show pictures but they didn't turn out pretty (my biscuits kind of ran over) but they tasted awesome. We ate them for dinner, (they were even a hit with my two year old) and then I had it again for lunch today! The Country Bob's sauce just took the taste over the edge! And I'm happy to report that the sauce isn't that bad for you. It only has 25 calories per serving and only 170mg of sodium per serving. That's not bad when you compare it to other sauces.

Overall score: This one gets two thumbs up! It tastes great (even on fries!), my family loves it, and there are some awesome recipes (you can even buy a cookbook)! Only one wish: start selling it closer to me!

Buy it: Country Bob's can be purchased in many grocery stores (except near me) or you can purchase it online. The shipping is already included in the prices!
