Chicken Soup for the Soul now makes comfort food! #giveaway

Yes, you read that right! The company that publishes those heart warming, encouraging and comforting story compilations now has a comfort food line! The products in the food line are various food items and recipes that were inspired by actual Chicken Soup for the Soul stories!

As a Chicken Soup for the Soul blogger I was given the opportunity to try out one of the new products from the line. Of course what would be more fitting then the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Chicken Noodle Soup! Right now in NC we have been having some pretty crazy weather. One day it's super hot and the next day it's super cold. My kids don't know what to put on each day so it was only a matter of time before one of them ended up with a cold. :( I don't know about you but when I'm not feeling so great soup is the one thing I adore. As a matter of fact wasn't there a study done that said that Chicken Noodle Soup really does have a positive impact on a cold. Now don't quote me on that one but I think I read it somewhere.

Since my daughter had a cold, and I was worried that I was next on the list, we decided to try out the soup. Lucky for me, the soup is super easy to make and only has 100 calories per serving. Each soup comes in a cute little carton:

that even includes instructions on how to open it:

My Take: It was really simple to fix the soup. Just shake it up, open, pour into a sauce pan and heat. It literally took about 5 minutes. Then it was on to the taste testing. Now I must begin this by saying I have a 4 year old and a 5 year old. They took one bite and one said, "no way" and the other said, "it's okay". Reliable answers? From picky eaters who are used to noodles shaped like Disney characters sure. However, I felt like the adult opinion would be a little more practical. I took my son's bowl and tried it out. First, I love how there were actual chunks or chicken and decent size pieces of carrots and celery. Second, I loved the taste of the broth. Not too salty tasting (even though I must warn you there is quite a bit of sodium in the soup). Finally, it was a nice comforting food. Totally lives up to the Chicken Soup for the Soul name. Downside: There is quite a bit of sodium in a serving which isn't good for me because I have high blood pressure. I also found the soup to need a little seasoning. Now this is just a personal opinion and a little bit of pepper perked it right up for me.

Buy it: Currently you can purchase, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Chicken Noodle Soup and other food products in grocery stores nationwide. They are slowly showing up throughout the US. Check out this map to see if they are at a store near you. Also for a listing of all the other available food products be sure to visit  the Chicken Soup for the Soul food website.

It's Bo Time in Fayetteville, NC!

Yes, I'm a busy stay-at-home mom who never thought she would be in charge of feeding a husband and two kids. I do love cooking for my family but there are just those times when eating out is a must! Sometimes I can get really picky about where I "eat out" and I must say I'm pretty loyal to certain restaurants. When our family was stationed in Colorado I have to admit there was one special fast food restaurant that I missed. Can you guess which one it was? I'll give you a hint...

"It's Bo Time"!

Yes, that's right! Bojangles. There were no Bojangles where I lived. Oh how I missed those Cajun seasoned fries and yummy chicken biscuits! Well, now that I'm back in North Carolina I have no problems "getting my Bo on".

As a matter of fact, I was contacted by Bojangles to inform you of it's latest grand opening right near me! (They must know how much I love them)! The newest Bojangles will be opening on Monday, Novemeber 18 at 914 Berkley Hall Way. For all who don't know it's right off All American Freeway. Simple to find if you are leaving Ft. Bragg. It's the first exit after you leave post. Just take a right at the exit ramp light and you'll see it through the tress on your right. (Can you tell I've already been scoping it out).

BUT that's not all! The first 100 customers to visit Bojangles after it's 5:30am opening will receive a $100 Bojangles gift card! Woo-hoo! That will pay for lots of "Bo Time", just ask Scotty MeCreary! LOL And for those who are like me, (not able to make it across town in time...trust me if I could I would) you can head over today (Sat. Nov. 16) from 11am-2pm to get a free 22oz. legendary iced tea. For those southerners who haven't tried this tea then you don't know what you are missing! It's totally worth the drive just to get the tea! :)

Other fun opening day giveaways include (looks like I know what our lunch is going to be on Monday):
·         One free Bo-Berry Biscuit per customer all day
·         Kids age 12 and under can choose a free kids meal from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
·         Free 22 oz. Legendary Iced Tea® from 2-5 p.m.
·         Guests will receive a coupon of their choice for a free country ham, steak or sausage biscuit sandwich, a free Bo-Berry Biscuit or a free Cinnamon Pecan Twist from 5-10 p.m. to enjoy on their next visit

Stay tuned for a review from me about some of my favorite items from the Bojangles menu! Trust me, after you hear about the food you are going to request that a Bojangles be opened near you! Just remember, "It's BO Time"! You can also follow Bojangles on FacebookTwitter and Instagram using #ItsBoTime.

Disclosure: Bojangles has supplied me with a gift card in exchange for sharing this information and conducting a review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
